My work in clay is primarily wheel thrown, often altered and with hand built additions to emphasize the more sculptural aspects of my pieces. For the functional work I use porcelain but prefer the darker coloured stoneware when creating decorative one of a kind art objects. The work is fired at a high temperature in a reduction atmosphere. Purity of form, clean line and graceful construction are of utmost importance to me.

memory. As I prepare to throw on the wheel I enter a state of sheer focus. The moment I dip my hand into the basin and begin to center the clay I feel close to the elements of nature, earth, water, I enjoy the physical and meditative nature of the forming process. Growing up in Iceland has instilled in me an appreciation for the beauty of nature as well as deep rooted interest in the ancient language and history of my native country. The mystical rugged mountains of Iceland, the magic of the sea and the creatures who live within, inspire me and hold an important place in my creative memory.
